I always forget that winter lasts for two more months after Christmas…in the excitement of the new Spring season its easy to forget that you still need to dress warm. Oversized coats are popular throughout the year but winter is the best time to wear them.
In Korea, when the weather is regularly under zero degrees, oversized coats are perfect as they allow multiple layers to be worn underneath for extra warmth. This puffy oversized jacket from the Korean brand Stylenanda fits over even my chunkiest jumpers, it’s also well lined and easily keeps me warm in the fairly mild winter we have in the UK. Over this winter this coat has definitely become my favourite to wear. It also comes with detachable fur around the hood, which I never really feel the need to wear in the UK as the coat is warm enough. Another massive plus is that the hood is as oversized as the rest of the coat and doesn’t squish my hair! No ugly hood shaped hair for me~
Also trending is the slightly baggy and longer coat, as you can see on the beautiful Abbie here. Long coats give a sophisticated feel to your outifts and allows you to stay warm without ruining your outfits by complimenting the look, not hiding it. Abbie’s coat is mid length from Burberry and is furry inside for added warmth. The other great thing about her coat is that it’s cream, in contrast to the usual dark colours of winter, her coat looks more at home in a blizzard and brightens up any outfit.
What is your preference on coats? Are you a fan of oversized chunky coats or do you prefer more fitted looks? Let me know in the comments!
