The annual Seoul Lantern Festival (서울빛초롱축제) took place from November 6th through to the 22nd. It takes place on Cheonggyecheon Stream near Jonggak Station. The Stream is filled full with bright and glowing sculpture ‘lanterns’ that hover over the water. There are lanterns from around the world as well as local Korean artists and companies providing the lanterns. Under the bridges are more traditional lanterns with wishes hanging down from them. There are chances to make your own lanterns and set them down the river, buy gifts and light sticks and there are many food stalls situated nearby. The festival goes on from around 5 o’clock until 11 o’clock at night so you can really make an evening out of it.

Here are some photos from the festival this year! Credit to Lee Cibis (고마워~) for all these photos…I won’t forget a memory card for my camera again! -_-
